Towards the end of our visit, we travelled a bit out of town to a wildlife sanctuary, where Henry took these photos of some cooperative geese...

On another pond, we saw these ducks...

...and the beach near Nelson's house afforded a glimpse of an eagle in flight...

On our way back from Denali, we made a short stop at Portage Glacier, and did some hiking as well as glacier-ogling.

Henry got a nice photo of a marmot-like animal on his hike...

We had some encounters with economically important wildlife species while in Alaska...

On the way back to Kenai after our Denali trip, we stopped in Anchorage to watch salmon fishermen near downtown...

...and Henry made an attempt at photographing the salmon working their way upstream...

Later, back in Kenai, we went harvesting clams on the beach for dinner...

Of course our trip to Denali, and our cruise along the shoreline of Kenai Fjords National Park, provided us with most of our wildlife viewing opportunities.

But wildlife are everywhere in Alaska, and we saw plenty of interesting animal life in and around the town of Kenai...

...even, literally, in our own neighborhood..
