On our second day in Trujillo, it was decided we could combine seeing some scenery with visiting some Marianist projects in the Moche River Valley by driving the 50 odd kilometers to the town of Otuzco. The river we followed for most of the trip does have the same name as the people who built the Huaca de la Luna that we saw the day before. The land we traversed is where these people had their empire, and it is speculated that many of the remote valleys that feed into the Moche might eventually yield archeological treasures like the Señor de Sipan.
