Ollantaytambo — Valley & town

The town of Ollantaytambo was having a festival the day we visited. We were told that it had been scheduled for the previous Sunday, but had to be postponed due to the presidential elections that were held that day. In the picture below on the left you can see the red tents under which the festival was being held. We could hear band music, too. On the right is a picture of the town market, and the valley beyond, from the hillside.

You could get some pretty nice views of the valley and surrounding mountains from up on the hillside where the ruins are, too:
