We spent a very enjoyable and sight-seeing-packed weekend in Potsdam and Berlin as guests of generous friends (and great hosts) we hadn't seen for a dozen years. In spite of less than perfect weather, we got to see and do a lot, but we're keen to go back in the spring or summer and enjoy the outdoor elements of these cities under better conditions.
For on-the-spot commentary, here are my blog posts for Potsdam and Berlin. And you'll find many more pictures in these Flickr sets: Potsdam • Berlin.
But to start with, here are some teasers. First from Potsdam...

.... and Berlin:
Berlin Cathedral and TV Tower (Berliner Dom und Fernsehturm) |
Fireworks at Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (Gedächtniskirche) |

Here we are at Tegel airport in Berlin, just before heading "home" to London, after our much-too-short visit to this country with the fascinating past and exciting present.
