Chinese Characters

Learned in Dōng Lǎoshī's Intro Mandarin class

Categories: numbers, people, time, food

Parts of speech: verbs, adjectives/adverbs, interrogatives/demonstratives, particles/suffixes/expressions

Additional pages: characters grouped containing similar radicals; HTML entities for pinyin

Most of these entities can be found here: Pinyin Converter: Numbered Tones to Accent Marks. The entities for the ü tones I found using this Pinyin Editor.

This compilation is simply for my convenience, to save the [minimal] trouble of typing individual words or letters into these handy sites.

1st (& 2nd*) tone
Entity

3rd (& 4th*) tone
Entity
ā ā   ǎ ǎ
ō ō   ǒ ǒ
ē ē   ě ě
ī ī   ǐ ǐ
ū ū   ǔ ǔ
ǖ ǖ   ǚ ǚ
ǘ ǘ   ǜ ǜ

Second and fourth tones for all the finals except for the ü characters can be made using non-numeric entities. For example, á is made with á and à with à.
