Crocodile Dundee II is an old-fashioned sequel—back when sequels were never better than the originals and often not even as good.
Nowadays that's sometimes not the case. But, though II is mildly entertaining and somewhat fun to watch, the original is definitely a better movie.
There is more plot to the current movie, if not more realism.
Hogan is as charming and amusing as ever in the sequel, but Kozlowski has even less to do here than she did in the original.
The major villains, played by Hechter Ubarry and Juan Fernandez, on the other hand, are lots of fun to watch. They're slimy and evil through and through, but also smarter than the average bad guys. That makes Dundee have to work a little harder to get the better of them, and, even though the outcome of the contest is never in doubt, a little more entertainment is coaxed out of it this way.
