Ghostbusters II isn't much different from the first version. There's plenty of slime here and several screenfuls of scary ghosts. More importantly, there's also the same group of wise-cracking ghostbusters.
The guys are again called upon to save an ungrateful New York City from a major league evil force. This time it's in the person of a creepy painting-come-to-life.
The original cast is all back, with Rick Moranis having a little more to do here, Harold Ramis a little less. Murray still gets the best lines and Weaver the most scares.
The same spirit of goofy fun pervades this movie as the first one, making up for its lack of originality. A couple of new characters help out, too. One is the infant son of Dana (Weaver), who is an exceptionally cute baby and is very important to the plot.
Even more entertaining though, is Peter MacNicol, heretofore known for more serious roles. He plays an art restorer with an accent you won't believe and a good sense of comic timing.
